i can get a free uprite grand in mint shape all covered in intricate designs from1880 is it worth the effort to accquire it?because i would only do it if it had a resale value thanks

You're getting it for free to sell it afterwards? I would assume that you're concerned about the cost of moving the instrument (these pianos can be exceedingly heavy).

Generally pianos of this age being given away for 'free' are a relief to the owner who gets space back in their home. You could be up for costs to renovate the piano and recondition it (if necessary). Intricate designs on the front make for a large piece of nice looking timber - but check that the piano action itself is sound and in good order.
