I promised to let you-all know...

CD Sheet Music has finally come out with their disc American Ragtime and Music Hall Piano Music

The complete works of Scott Joplin, to be sure, as well as Zez Confrey, Joseph Lamb, James Scott, etc etc etc Over 850 pages of sheet music, only $14.95.
http://www.cdsheetmusic.com lists the complete contents for those interested.

To the ragtime, they've added many Music Hall classics, two-steps, cakewalks, and fox trots. Quite an extensive list of printable sheet music on CD-ROM.

AND, if ragtime isn't your thing, they've simultaneously released a disc AMERICAN CONCERT PIANO MUSIC, which rounds up the works of great American composers from Amy Beach to Arthur Foote, (our own) Vincent Persichetti to John Philip Sousa! Includes works from beginner level to virtuoso. Again, complete contents are at the website. This one has over 2,200 pages, at $18.95.

Thanks for your time.

I decided to let you-all know...

As you might remember, we had a discussion about printing from CD Sheet Music : the print-out was too small to be lisible. People suggested enlarging the printings using a copy (xerox) machine.

No more ... The last version of Adobe Reader 5 solved the problem of small pages. In the print dialog screen you have a box 'Enlarge small pages to fit the paper'. Also, you have a tiny preview window. When you tick the 'Enlarge small pages' box you see in the preview window the image becoming larger and an indication of the zooming. And indeed, the printed pages are larger and readable.

On a HP-930 printer, good quality copies are printed when set to 'Draft'. Fast and economic.

To CD Sheet music producers : there is a bug in the installation software : the short-cut created points to the toc.pdf on the first CD drive found. If one has two CD drives (as I do, the first being the CD writer) and the CD Music CD is one the second one, the shortcut must be edited and the correct drive letter be inserted (for example 'h:musictoc.pdf' and 'start in: h:music'
