I saw the latest news from NAMM that Yamaha was releasing the YDP-223 to replace the YDP-121. It features graded-hammer action and 64-note polyphony and should have an MSRP of $1500 (I don't know how it will translate at street).

See: http://www.giles.com/yamaha1/pr/trade/NAMM/S02/pr/pac/ pkb/ydp.html

Has anyone already played digital piano and give me some feedback on how it sounds? The interface looks like that of the P-120 (which sounds very nice to my ears). My only complaint with the YDP-121 was that the downward-facing 20-watt speakers made of a little more muffled sound.

I would imagine that it's just a P-120 in a nice fake wood grain cabinet. I almost bought a YDP-121, until I found out that it did not have midi. I own a P-120 and I definately am very happy with it after almost a year of ownership. I recently played a Roland F-90 which was not an option for me a year ago, it has very nice action.

So ask yourself, do you want portability or not?

I have played one of the YDP and thought that it had an action that felt like the Clavinova rather then that found in the P-120. Anyone know what kind of action it has???
