I have the Perlman/Ashkenazy, is there any better set?

Is there *any* set in '60s-or-better sound that's worth the purchase price?

How about Perl's inexpensive set on Arte Nova? (I've only heard one disc, which was excellent.)

I wasn't reading carefully, and I thought the question had to do with piano sonata cycles. Sorry.

My favorite is the Francescatti/Casadesus set, which can be had for about $25.

I have the Perlman/Ashkenazy complete cycle, too, as well as most of the Menuhin/Kempff, and isolated sonatas with Milstein, Suk, Busch, Kreisler and various others. But as sets go, I probably love Grumiaux/Haskil more than any other.

Just my two cents,

Haven't heard any of the Suk/Panenka, but my immediate suspicion is that they are too laid-back, as they (Suk in particular) often are in solo recordings. Any rebuttal?
