What would be in this 3rd volume? I thought Delos had done all the songs already.

What I would really like to see would be a disc of Tishchenko's orchestrations of some of the Shostakovich song cycles (and he did some Mussorgsky and Grieg as well...)

My guess is:

Two Fables of Krylov, Op. 4 Six Romances on Words by Japanese Poets, Op. 21 Four Romances on Verses of Pushkin, Op. 46 Six Romances on Verses of British Poets, Op. 62

That leaves the following for future volumes:

Eight British and American Folksongs Two Songs (texts by Svetlov), Op. 72 From Jewish Folk Poetry, Op. 79 Homesickness Satires (Pictures of the Past), Op. 109 Spring, Spring, Op. 128 Suite on Sonnets of Michelangelo Buonarroti, Op. 145

First things first: let's let them finish this series!

Yes, you are correct, Matthew, with the addition of: Ophelia's Song from Music for Hamlet, op.32 Cordelia's Ballad & The Fool's Song from Music for King Lear, op.58

I'm glad they told somebody! Unfortunately, Delos' Website does not seem to have been updated since March.

Delos is apparently renewing their commitment to American music, with a just released disk containing Persichetti's Symphony No. 4 and Benjamin Lees' Passacaglia, rather improbably coupled with something by Michael Daugherty.

If it didn't have the Daugherty, I might be interested. But all the same, my petty preferences aside, that's good news. I don't suppose they might record the rest of that David Diamond symphony?
