Nice to have the Franck Violin Sonata played on a violin for a change! Some of these performers I haven't heard of before (I know Zilberstein won some competition and made some recordings for DGG, and is *really* cute), so this could be interesting. I wonder how many Capuçons there are?

Including 'Tulen Synti,' perhaps?

I know Galina and Slava recorded the Mussorgsky at least once with him at the piano, and at least once with him conducting, so I'll be curious to find out how she is accompanied here.

Here are the specific works they list: 1) Snöfrid 2) Oma maa 3) Väinön Versi 4) Sandels 5) Maan virsi 6) Laulu Lemminkäiselle 7) Finlandia

No indication, but I'd assume as conductor. BTW, Matthew, how is the Karajan Symphonie Fantastique? It's not one I've heard or would normally think about getting, but with the ODP I might if recommended.

Also, I want to apologize for the strange coding and spellings in some of these posts. The punctuation codes, of course, do not usually appear in my final draft before sending it through Google, which is my only option on my work PC. The mispellings are just from my rushing to do this on my break time.

Hm, some are familiar, some aren't. I do recall making a dumb joke some years ago, when Finlandia issued a CD of Sibelius' music idiotically entitled 'Footprints,' that it was too bad it didn't include 'Sandels'!

I don't know it; I so strongly suspect that I would dislike it that I have not bothered to hear it.

I'm just grateful to you for doing this in the first place. The record companies are too busy coming up with dumb titles for their CDs to bother to let us customers know what they're issuing! ;

Archambault still hasn't shipped this to me so I may as well cancel the order and just buy this when it comes out here in July. Seems like I'll get it faster this way!

I guess it's what I saw on TV lately, recorded live in Paris in 1970 with Slava at the piano.
