Just finished listening to a movement of a Piano trio (vln-cello), D minor, op. ll, by this composer on Radio Netscape, performed by the 'Clara Wieck Trio'. Although I have known the 'name' of this sibling-of-the-more-illustrious brother, this is the first time I had heard any of her works. The movement was sparkling, seemingly well-constructed, and the piano lines were very 'Chopinesque'. Has anyone here heard other works of hers, particularly piano compositions?

I've heard some of her chamber music, and some orchestral music, and some piano music, but the work of hers which really impressed me was her 'Oratorium nach Bildern der Bibel,' which I used to have on a cpo LP and have since replaced with the CD: cpo 999 009-2, Elke Mascha Blankenburg conducting soloists, Orchester und Chor der Kölner Kurrende.

The Mendelssohn-Hensel (no 't' at the end) Trio is the only work of hers that I know, and it is lovely. There is an excellent recording by the Clementi Trio on Largo that comes coupled with Rebecca Clarke's Piano Trio, a work that surely qualifies as a neglected masterpiece.
