Thanks to a superbly done private transfer from LPs of Viktor Fedotov's incandescent complete Sleeping Beauty given to me by a generous friend, it's clear that the recording on Audiophile Classics purporting to be Fedotov's is an impostor (and of course incomplete). It's not bad, but not in the same league. Anyone know who's Sleeping Beauty it is?

This will need further investigation to determine who the actual forces (on Audiophile Classics) are, but it is certainly not the complete recording that Fedotov did with the Leningrad Philharmonic that was released on 3-LPs by DG in 1982 (a comparison of the waltz in both performances, especially at the very end, will suffice to convince anyone that these are different recordings). Anyone wanting more information about the private transfer Marc alludes to can contact

restoration.
