Hi there,

I am looking at two pianos, both uprights--a 1921 Steinway and a 1926 Heintzman. Both are in excellent internal condition offered for sale by a technician. The Heintzman also has a good exterior finish and needs nothing. The Steinway needs refinishing and is $500 more to start with.

Any thoughts on Heintzman vs. Steinway? In terms of resale, would I have a hard time selling the Heintzman since I'm located in the U.S., and the Steinway has the name recognition advantage?

The Steinway is a Model K, a 52" I believe. I'm having trouble nailing down the Heintzman model. I'll see if I can get serial numbers on Monday. The Heintzman is $2,000 out the door. The Steinway is $2500 and another $1000 to get it refinished.

After more research, I still cannot find a model for the Heintzman, other than I believe it's an upright grand.
