How would you rate this as a complete set? I'm not normally a completist but the lot are going for $US9.00 in a local store (no listening facilities) and I think I remember this as being well recommended. The recordings are from 1965. I don't have all the LvB SQ.
Cheers

There was a recent thread on this. I don't care for their playing - especially the first violinist's, with his prominent vibrato (exaggerated by the rather close sound) and too many movements are far too slow for my taste, lacking drive and fire (when I compared a heap of recordings of 59/3/iv, theirs came in near or at the bottom). I much prefer their earlier mono set (though I've not kept that either).

It's the 1953 mono set that gets the recommendations, not the stereo. But for $9.00 you should get it just to sell on eBay for $40
