I recently was given a black CVP-96 clavinova digital piano ser# 017426. I was wanting to know how to find out its age and what it would be worth. I have seen others on craigslist at $2999 and $2500. is this a fair price. Mine is in great condition and works great.
Thank you

Hey there Skyler.

The CVP range of keyboards came out in 1997. They were manufactured by Yamaha. http://www.yamaha.com/publications/keyaction/kajul97/ keyact1.htm

Here's a useful chart to compare the age / value of your keyboard with other Yamahas: http://www.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/chron.php

I would think the prices you have seen somewhat over-value the actual instrument, given the depreciation of digital technology over time, but if someone is willing to pay it - around $2000 would seem a price that I would think to be reasonable. The retail price new was $6695
