I would like to buy a piano for my kids, and get them into piano lessons. We will be moving house in about 6 months time, and I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to put it off till we are in our new house? How complicated is it to move a piano, and would it need to be tuned every time it is moved?

Hello Guest,

If you want, you can always get a digital, which can sometimes be as simple as a keybpard that only weighs about 50lbs. They are very portable, and you can get used ones for very cheap compared to a traditional full sized piano whether upright or grand.

Digital ones can also come with different "voices" which can be fun to play and I find can encourange some children to play more often as it's more interesting than hearing nothing but a regular piano. Also, they can be used with headphone, which can be a major blessing to parents at times.

They do not require re-tuning.

I hope this was of any help, and that you are able to find exactly the right instrument for your family.

Best wishes,
~B~
