What musical scores from what concert? Are you taking them from a music stand afterwards and are trying to hide it? If they're only going to be thrown out then it's one thing, but maybe ask the proper authority and see if they'll give them to you.

If the circumstances are different, then think of the ethics behind it.

you miss understood me I meant to ask if it would be impolite to bring the scores with me, so I could follow the playing on the scores as it happened in real time.

Hey there guest!

If it's a professional artist, there should be no problem in taking the scores along for a concert. It's a totally different story if you take your video camera along or record the concert via other means.

I think the main reasons people don't generally take scores along are:
* the scores can be cumbersome to carry
* the works are generally well known to the listening audience and don't need following

I used to take scores to concerts and noticed others who did likewise.

Trust this helps.

OMG!!!! LOL. I am laughing so hard at myself right now. I totally apologize for my mistake. LOL. I happened to be on very late, and I mean very, very late. I totally misread and misunderstood you. My bad. Sorry again. LOL

I agree with MakeANote. I can't see anything wrong with bringing along the score. I'd see it as you were trying to "follow-along," further your understanding of it, and delving deeper into it.

As long as you aren't disturbing anyone I don't think anyone would be bothered by it. I agree as well about not using recording devices for professionals.

Do you have a particular concert in mind to bring the notes to? I'd be interested in knowing who/what you're going to see.

I hope you find it enhances your enjoyment when you attend concerts.

Best wishes, (and a promise not to do this when I'm enhausted anymore.)
