Is there any chronological listing of DGG Records out there?

Hy all,

as a record collector I am wondering that I can´t find any complete listing / catalogue of the 50s and 60s Deutsche Grammophon records anywhere. Of course I have heard about these printed catalogues from the 50s, but is that all?

The early LPM mono series with Schneiderhan or the great stereo SLPM series with are Martha Argerich for instance such collectible, but I am missing the overview. Is there anybody out there with an similar problem or could anybody help me?

DG has produced over the years many editions of a tome referred to by inmates as 'The Bible', a thick text catalogue of all existing DG products.

Was never ablt to lay my hands on a copy, as it is printed in small quantities - perhaps not at all any more - and only distributed to a select few, alas.

They MUST have printed the same kind of catalogues which I own from Philips from the early 1950s onwards. But they are almost impossible to obtain, legally that is.

The other thing is that in the 1950s DG product appeared, albeit selectively, on American Decca, (e.g. Kempff's mono Beethoven Sonatas) and when DG launched the 'imported product', not all product was issued in the USA.

In terms of UK issues, and in the the absence of access to a contiguous series of DGG catalogues, the next best thing would be to find a library with a set of the Gramophone Classical Catalogue from its inception in the early '50s. Not strictly a chronological listing, but the included Gramophone review dates will give a good idea of sequence.

Where, if any, such library source exists is another matter. I do have a complete run, so if you have any burning specific questions, email me off-group.
