It's been a few years since I last hung out with this group - thought I should take a peek and make sure you're not saying anything good about electronic keyboards or Hanon (or 'finger muscles' !)

Love & kisses,

A nut, you are Radu. Really, a nut. A nut that I can't recall. A Philbert? A Brazil nut? Harpsichords are the old school. No one should play them unless they like the repertoire that goes with it. Bach is a different matter. Bach is required for piano players also. As horrible as most of it sounds in ET, pianists still have to play Bach to get into their programs.

Nut ?

At least I follow your advice. I found the Do minor prelude from erste WTK. Awfull russian old book ! Small printing and the pages dark (brown). It took me two hours to scan it and enlarge it so I can see the notes and the fingerings. So, it is meant to replace Hanon ? I would qualify it as a Hanon exercise for the extension of fingers 3 and 5 and for playing with the thumb on the black keys. Why... I thought, until the middle of the prelude, that finger 4 is not needed at all ! I can play it with hands together (much easier to 'grasp' than the inventions), but I decided to take the same aproach as with the invention, that is to master the hands separately. A friend of mine said she has the WTK with Goldweiser fingerings (Goldweiser, a russian, was a master of fingerings). But what she found was WTK in 'pocket book' format (as many others 'pocket' music books whe brought from Russia). Not for my eyes !

Best,
