Dear Friends,

Recently I've posted all Schubert Impromptus Op.90 performed by Elena Kuschnerova live in Toblach, Gustav-Mahler-Saal, in MP4 on Elena's web site
http://elenakuschnerova.com

Then some complained that they still cannot listen to MP4s. Now I've posted all these pieces also in MP3 on the 'Downloads' page of Kuschnerova's web site. Those who can listen to both can now compare the sounding.

Happy listening,

Thank you Dmitry! I've listened to these with great pleasure. I also thought the first movement of the Italian Concerto was splendid. As for the MP4s, my Real One player downloaded some add-in that was supposed to play them, but it did not work properly. So I upgraded my QuickTime player to version 6, and that did the trick.

I ordered Kuschnerova's Scriabin disc from Qualiton, only to learn that it is out of stock and back-ordered. They did have the Moussorgsky 'Pictures' on Orfeo, however, and I am enjoying that immensely.

- In fact, Elena is mostly proud of her Bach CD that is a live recording of her all-Bach recital performed only one time (!). There are more MP3s from this CD on the 'Discography' page of her web site.

- Quicktime 6 seems to be the only software at the moment that can produce and play MP4. Unfortunately MP4s still cannot be tagged, and it is an obstacle if you are going to make a library.

So could you detect a difference in sounding between MP3 at 160 kbps and MP4 at ~100 kbps?

- It is indeed a good idea to buy the Mussorgsky CD from Qualiton as it is much cheaper there. But Scriabin is being sold at the same price at amazon.com, for instance. Qualiton is importer of the labels Ars Musici and ORFEO in the North America but for some reasons it does not import all Kuschnerova's CDs. Her Prokofiev CD with Romeo & Juliet and the 2nd sonata recieved the 'German Record Critics' Award', the most serious record award in Germany, but it has not been imported into the USA. Kuschnerova's Bach CD is also unavailable from Qualiton but seemingly shops such as amazon.com do recieve it directly from the label.
