Hi,

Its been a dream of mine to have a baby grand piano. For the first time in my life I am in a position to be able to afford one. Unfortunately I know nothing about pianos. What is a good one (brand) to buy? How much we are talking about? What decides the price? I appreciate any info.

Thanks,

Are you a pianist? Are you looking for a superb musical instrument? Are you interested in buying the piano mainly as a piece of furniture? On the lower end, a 5'3' Yamaha C1 in ebony is approximately $15,000

What can you afford? Grand pianos are priced like cars. Do you want a Chevrolet, a Jaguar or a Rolls Royce?

Thanks for all the info. Per Topol in Fiddler on the Roof, I am not filthy rich but I am not poor either. Neither am a pianist (I can play the violin reasonably well). I think the low end is more affordable to me so I start educating myself. Thanks again.
