Looking for the lead sheet (melody and chord symbols) of 'Christmas Time is Here.' This was played by Vince Guaraldi in 'A Charlie Brown Christmas.'

I have checked my fake books and in our local library but can not locate a copy. I also checked Google to no avail.

If anyone has a source or info where to get a copy, I'd appreciate it.

See http://www.halleonard.com (search there for Christmas Time is here) for several variations of the printed music available. I dont see a fake book format, but click the Series link there (on each publication) for a sample of that printed form. The Easy Piano and P/V/G formats also show chord and guitar symbols.

Local music/piano/guitar stores were full of these a couple of weeks ago.

Amazon.com and similar has some of these (verify which via ISBN number).

You can also try The Easy Christmas Fake Book : 100 Songs in the Key of C by Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation (Paperback - July 2002)

It includes a pleasant little arrangement of that song that I enjoyed playing over the holidays.

The Hal Leonard 'Artist Transcriptions' series, Vince Guaraldi Collection, has a note-for-note version, including chord symbols (starts easy, gets hard). (catalog HL00672486)

My son learned a version this season from Hal Leonard's Easy Piano _Ultimate Christmas - 100 Seasonal Favorites_ (ISBN 0-7935-0944-0) after a year and a half of lessons. It's got some nice chord voicings that you can probably work off of.

I've been working on the original artist transcription from Hal Leonard's _The Vince Guaraldi Collection_ (ISBN 0-634-03099-X) after having worked on 'Cast Your Fate To The Wind' in the same collection. It has everything sans percussion and bass solo. If you take this route I suggest you listen to a recording of Guaraldi's performance, unless you happen to be comfortable doing rhythms of 30-note riffs in a 3/4 measure.

I love the original transcriptions book. I noticed that some measures were missing in 'Cast Your Fate to the Wind', but overall it's great stuff. I only regret that it didn't include his renditions of 'The Christmas Song' and 'Skating'.
