Hans, I use an Alesis QS-8 with Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.0. All I do is record a MIDI file in Cakewalk, then record it to a blank track as an audio file, and then mix it down and save it as a .wav, MP3, or .wma file. The only cables I have is a MIDI cable from the Alesis to the MIDI port on my hard drive, and later, for recording audio, I have a 'Y' cable with a 1/8' jack at one end that plugs into my soundcard, and at the other end, it splits into two 1/4' jacks and plugs into the speaker ports of my Alesis. Email me off-list if you need any further help, and/or browse around with Google for Cakewalk tutorials. I don't know how to synchronize .wav files, and don't have any experience with using them in Cakewalk.

Best Wishes,

P.S. Scott Garrigus's 'Cakewalk Power' is available on Amazon.com, and is a very comprehensive reference.
