Tchaikovsky- a noted lover of Mozart used a theme in the last mvt for his variations
Where does this theme come from? Is it an original or is it really by Mozart
Ansermet's recording Dec 1966 has a guest. Fellow Decca artist Ruggierio Ricci. Obviously a sales ploy but a musical one as well. The SRO had a very capable concertmaster, Lorend Fenyves. He was one of the original concermasters in the Palestine Symphony. Last I heard he was teaching in Bampff fuh fuh
re conducting in Israel- Zubin Mehta said he likes to conduct in Israel because when you have 5 Jews you have 5 different opinions.
