I have a Baldwin Acrosonic, 60', ser. # 738937. I want to sell it, but I know nothing about the process. The piano needs a tuning but is otherwise in excellent condition. It dates from the mid-50s or early 60s, I think. Other than having it professionally appraised, where is a good place to get a rough idea as to how much something like this sells for on the used piano market? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Ooops. One correction. This piano is 40' tall, not 60'. I guess that makes it a 'console' piano.

If you've had it tuned in recent years, you can ask the tuner what he/she thinks it is worth, and if they have a customer for it. Otherwise, look through the local classifieds or pianomart.com

I thought doofus was spelled D-O-O-F-U-S, and couldn't be abbreviated as Don.

David, the piano doesn't have a lot of value to it. That doesn't justify Don's assininity.

You did receive some good advice. Another piece of advice is to go to a local used piano store and see their price on a similar piece. They paid half as much as they are selling it for, if they plan to make any profit. Underbid them by 20% and you may be able to sell it.
