Finally got this disc (Etudes Tableaux op 33 & op 39) As I was told, its Ogdon on top form, no slips, a minimum of scrambled phrases and not choppy as his playing could often sound. The interpretations are very intense and illuminating as ever ( some people have said demonic but if Ogdon is demonic how do you place Horowitz - cracked ?) Sounds well too. Busoni couplings are from much earlier in his career and are a touch more po-faced.

Also the new Szigetti disc on Testmanent with Prokofiev and Bloch concertos sounds amazingly good !
