Flipping channels last night, I stopped by the Grammys for a minute or 2 to see Yo Yo Ma playing obligatto to James Taylor doing 'Sweet Baby James' (maybe it was another of his tunes from the 70's, I've forgotten now...)
OK, maybe the cello repertoire isn't as large as it could be, but we could always use another recording of the Finzi, or D'Albert, or Popper, or Volkman or etc. But 'James Taylor'? Sheesh.
