May anyone tell me will the p200 with its internal speaker give better than P80 with a yamaha MS20s? I know it's hard to judge, but do hope to hear any personal comments.

Not even close. My vote goes for the P80 with the MS20S speakers

No. I'm not going to tell you that because I didn't think so. The P200 speakers are missing some bass response or something. I can't put my finger on it, but they don't sound good to me. Perhaps this is why it has the option of not using them. The overall sound of the P200 sounds to thin to me. Not hard at all to tell the difference. My P80 WITH ms20s sound *way* better!

Sorry, i don't know what you meant by 'option of not using them.'

In fact, is it different to such an extent?

You can turn the speakers off on the P200, and use and external speaker, or amp. Yes they are different. Very Thin. Not full

Rarely will you find that the internal speakers on ANY keyboard will sound as good as a set of external speakers.

I had a P200 and now have a P80 with MS20S speakers. There's no comparison - the MS20S really puts out compared to the P200 speakers.

(same answer that the one done on alt.music.maker.electric-piano)

This may help :

I recently listen my P200 on the high fidelity speakers I use to listen music (JBL LX 55, 200 W each, bought 5000 FF 10 years ago). I then realized that the P200 speakers are just correct. I heard the piano sound as I never heard it. Especially in trebbles. Note that after this trial I still use P200 spekaers (it's more convenient).

Summary is :

P200 speakers can be used but good external speakers are much better.

However in headphones even the P200 samples sound not as full period. It's as though they EQed them to be mid range(y) so they 'cut through' I don't like the piano samples at all. However they will sound better through external speakers. So if you really want the P200, get it, and use external speakers.

Oh i see, external speakers are the only way to perfectize the output signal from the machine. but i don't know how to orientate them in the correct position so that i can get the best effect, if i have bought them. mind you tell me? thx.
