How about a pianists Olympics. You could have various events like Hanon. Who can play the fastest Hanon exercise. You could have a Czerny event, an octave event (who can play them fastest and loudest) etc. etc. Any ideas?

If you had a class of students, it might be a way to motivate them and keep their interest level up... (Especially in doing tedious finger exercises.... <G>

It's already been done by Alexander Peskanov. Check out this link:
http://www.lhmc.org/07_piano_olympics/ 07_00_piano_olympics.html

It's only a cursory description but surprisingly I could find very little on the web. It is actually a pretty big deal, and gaining popularity among teachers. Willis is the publisher, I believe, and they should be faulted for not doing better promotion!
