Yeah, I think that the $1000 or so you save overseas would pay for several repair visits. I'm looking at either an HP-7 or a KR-277. If the local dealer total price comes within $500 of the total overseas price then I'll buy it locally.

Be very careful with overseas deals. There are many thieves operating in places where they can get away with it, Hong Kong in particular who will quote any price it takes to get you to send money. They have no instruments and never intend to ship any. It is essentially impossible for you to do anything about it when you find out you've been robbed.
