I would like to get some current feedback from other tuner/technicians that use some form of electronic tuning aide. I'm not really looking for a debate on the merits/demerits of tuning by ear, machine or combinations as I've read those articles previously posted.
My father and I have had a piano/tuning business for the past twenty years and we use a Yamaha PT100 and aural which works well. We like this much better than the old Peterson Strobe we use to use.
I am looking at the RCT or others as I've been reading other tuner's information who seem to think this is great. Also, Pocket PC vs laptop. Any hickups the products may have.
Does this product help with time and accuracy?
Thankyou and I appreciate any info you can offer.

I'm not a tech so I'll keep my comments brief. I have the Tunelab Pro for my own piano. For the money, it's tough to beat. It saves a lot of time and samples inharmonicity very well, not just the F_A_C of the SAT III. It will measure inharmonicity of any note. Then it produces a very accurate stretch tuning curve which you can 'tweek' by ear and have it stored very easily. Down load the trail version of the program from their web site. Use it and see what you think. I think you can get three full tunings from the trail program before it shuts down. There is also a user group message board under Yahoo groups. Very helpful. You can also call the inventor of tunelab and talk about the program. He's very helpful.
