I own a Richard Lipp (Stuttgart) grand piano. Size around 2,20 meter (7 feet ?). Does anyone know if Lipp uses a serial number, and where I could find it ? I've been looking on all the obvious places, but cannot find any serial. Even removed the action, but no result. Nothing on the visible part of the plate, the pinblock or the soundboard. Any suggestions ?

If you are capable of removing the action, then why can't you find a serial number? How do you know the name *Richard* ? The number should be stamped on the edge of the soundboard just to the right of the dampers but may be obscured by dust. Gary.

Marked on the metal plate : Rich. Lipp & Sohn Stuttgart There is no number on the edge of the soundboard. The only number I can find is 12, (on one of the wooden beams of the back to which the metal plate is bolted) but I cannot imagine this is the serial number. But anyway, thanks for the suggestion.
