The Kara Karayev has shown up on eBay once or twice recently, offered by our old pal www.classicalenthusiast.com.

Are you interested in the original cd's or is it just the recordings you want to have? If the latter is the case I can help you with some.

If you have a friend in NYC, he/she perhaps can pay a visit to the Tower Annex where I saw LOTS of these last Friday (I am now back in California, otherwise I'd search for these myself).

What I want to know is, whether this Russian Disc even existed?

GLAZOUNOV: Symphony No. 4; Violin Concerto; 2 Serenades Gorenstein / Russian Disc 10 039

It was pictured in the Koch catalog but immediately withdrawn when they stopped distributing Russian Disc (!) ... So I don't know if they even issued it. Has anyone seen this one???

I am very grateful for all the replies. I just wished I lived in NYC rather than Widnes in the UK. I tried the Tower website boht UK and USA and none of these discs were revealed. If only I knew someone in NYC.

I may be beating a dead horse here, but I just bought a bunch of the Russian Disc stuff at the Tower Records Outlet in NYC. If you're succesful in contacting Tower's outlet, I know that the following are available (multiple copies):

-Blumenfeld/Schebalin/Banshchikov (tell them to look under Blumenfeld. What's this like?) -Esphai, Syms 4 & 5. (bought it, like it. How is the Esphai concertos disk?) -Svetlanov (3 Songs, etc.) I think the other Svetlanov also. (What is this like?)

Berkshire has the Karayev rec. (on Olympia, not Russian Disc).

At Tower, I also picked up the following on Russian Disc: -a couple of the DSCH movie scores (Sofia Perovskaya, Goya, others
