Hi,

I was looking for this piece for the longest time (remembered it being impromptu, but was not part of the famous 2 sets of impromptus...) and now finally locate the CD and the score!! I want to learn the first one (sounds awesome)...sounds v. hard, but when i sight read the first page, it seems okay, how hard is this compare to his impromptus? How about compare with Bach's 2 part inventions? Please advise.

I just looked at my Dover edition of this. I don't think it is too much more difficult than the Bach, but there are measures that will be difficult (especially in the Andante section) The only thing I can see in the Allegro assai that would be very hard is the 2 against 3 polyrythms. The Andante has a few fast runs in the right hand and some tremolos in both hands. Aside from those things, the piece is fairly easy, being mostly a combination of chords, arpeggios, and octaves. I think you could play it if you can handle the difficult sections I pointed out.
