Hi, I've recently completed two beginner piano books, and had several lessons over the three months that I have been learning.

I would like to try and learn some songs other than Michael Row Your Boat, For He's a Jolly Good Fellow, Clementine, etc., etc.

Can anyone recommend beginner or level one book(s) that I can learn something a little more interesting and fun to play. I'd like suggestions of books that are still in print and accessible through music stores, Amazon, etc.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

My instructor recommended a Faber & Faber book called ChordTime Piano Jazz & Blues level 2b. It's pretty basic. I've only gone through the Alfred level one book but haven't had any problems with this one. 'Where is Love?' is more the direction I want to play than Clementine. I got it at the local music store. I'm sure there are others, and I would like to know what they are too.

Thanks Raj; I'll check out the book. Hopefully some other recommendations will get posted for us to also consider.

I'd strongly recommend all of the Micro Jazz books by Christopher Norton. These books are graded and even at level 1 he demonstrates how you can achieve some terrific jazz/blues effects even with fairly basic piano techniques. Absolutely great fun.

Regarding jazz, I found very useful in the old times the Aebersold books
