I'm doing a research paper on the history of the Russian piano school, in particular its establishment up through the early 1900's. I know that European pianists like Field and Henselt were active in Russia before they (Russia) had a school of their own, but I'm having trouble locating any information on their impact, if any, on future Russian pianists. Is anyone aware of books or other sources that would have information about the piano in Russia during this time period? Most of the books I've found that would be helpful seem to be out of print, and I can't locate a copy of any of them. Thanks for any help.
