I am trying to find the following two items of music by Yuri SHAPORIN - both are for solists, chorus and orchestra:-
1. On the Field of Kulikovo - a Melodiya LP issued in 1970s? conductor Svetlanov
2. Battle for the Russian Homeland - either Melodiya or EMI-Melodiya LP coupled with work by Petrov - something to do with the Heroes of Leningrad (interested in the Petrov also) - 2LP boxed set
Does anyone have catalogue details for these? If someone could do a CDR of these long deleted items I would happily meet costs?
Many thanks for any help on these.

I will keep my eyes open for these as I am interested in Shaporin's work. Perhaps you know that his 'How Long Shall the Kite Fly?' (Oratorio for Baritone, Mezzo, Chorus and Orchestra), the last of his three 'Battle Trilogy' works following the two you cite, was released by Melodiya/MCA on MLD-32118 CD [USSR SO/Svetlanov]. I would also like to get my hands on a recording of his opera 'The Decembrists,' but have been unable to find one.

While I do not have the LP, I did get this work from Moscow Radio many years ago on 15 ips tapes. I have since transferred it to DAT, but can easily make a CDR. It's the same recording, jut better sound.

again my thanks to everyone who replied on and off list - there are signs that I might be able at last to hear copies of two of Shaporin's wartime trilogy of choral/orchetsral works. Thank you again to eveyrone and especially to those who are helping me with CDRs of these works. Rob
