After Wayne's post about the recent ill-publicized Rosen recital in San Francisco, perhaps I should pass on the following:

Pianist Simon Trpceski (pronounced TerpCHESky) will make his San Francisco debut on Sunday, March 9 (11 am) at the Florence Gould Theatre, Legion of Honor as part of San Francisco Performances' Young Masters series.

Trpceski will perform the following program:

RAVEL Valses Nobles et Sentimentales CHOPIN Scherzi Nos. 3 and 4 TCHAIKOVSKY Concert Suite from the 'Nutcracker' STRAVINSKY Three movements from 'Petroushka'

Sample of his latest recording:

I've just started a thread called 'I'm sorry I haven't a clue' about this guy. His performance of Ravel's Valses Nobles et Sentimentales was so completely clueless that it would be difficult to plan a more incompetent way to play the music if you tried. Every bar - no, every note - was so badly thought out that I could scarcely believe I was listening to the same work which Rubinstein plays so magically. Nothing to do with technique - his technique was fine.
