Stradivarius was said to have a secret hard varnish that gave tone to his violins. Is there an equivalent for the piano?
What do the best pianos, both old and new, have their soundboards varnished

Everybody knows that in reality Stradivarius' products were sort of low end until he hired Ludwig Prawnburger to come up with that assymetrical soundboard thing. He also invented rubber grommet tuning peg bushings, but they kept slipping and falling out.
But the really good ones were the LP models, with the Sassafras wood tops soaked in a solution of honey taken from the rare Himilayan ice bee mixed with extract of manatee urine. Good sounding, and aromatic, too!

The Shrine to Music, a wonderful musical instrument collection in South Dakota, claims to have an unmodified Strad.
