Yes, ebay is the leader in on line auctions. You generally pay too much there if you buy, but it's a great place to sell. You can also use it to get a pretty good idea of the real cost of many hard to find items.

I guess I was not specific enough, I was referring to the company listing the piano, not ebay itself.

Heard of the company but not familiar with them. However, their opening price is ludicrously low if it is indeed what they say it is. They say it's a no-reserve auction so either a) they are risking taking it in the shorts that they might sell it significantly under market value or b) they will renig the sale if they don't get a reasonable bid or c) they'll figure out a way to extract a reasonable amount of money from you if the bid is significantly under market.
It'll be interesting to see what it ultimately bids out at. I'm guessing no more than 10k and it's worth much more than that IMO.

I hadn't thought of this. Why bother paying billions in fees if you can just list without reserve price and then just cancel towards the end the bidding isn't high enough
