Pieces for Cello & Orchetsra, - I'm trying to be as reasonably inclusive as possible based on one or another criteria (birth or residence of the composer for example).

Kelterborn's concerto was written 1998/99 - http://www.musicedition.ch/composers/27d.htm Martin's ballade for cello and orchestra is available on Chandos (1949. I thought there were other recordings of the concerto, but I'm probably thinking broadcasts!) Donemus' catalog gives 1969 for both of Kox' cello concerti. (Hrm. And I like Henkemans' music, someone should record _his_ (1989)...) If double concerti counted, Alfred Felder's ballade for cello, clavecin and strings (on a Gallo CD) could be included, but then we'd have to include quite a lot else too... Eric Schissel

'Double Concertos' are another thread, Eric, - patience, - everything in its place.

You might be thinking of Fournier / Ansermet, which was issued on CD by Cascavelle. There was also an excellent recording by Kates and Mester on Louisville LP, but that one never appeared on CD, afaik. (Kates is a wonderful soloist.) I can't understand why this marvelous work has failed to enter the standard repertoire.

You are going to set up a site with all these compilations after you've consulted the collective wisdom of rcmr, aren't you?

American violin concerti, and clarinet quintets, were discussed in threads over on www.classicalmusicguide.com before the board there was converted from UBB to phpBB (the maintainer didn't have the profile and thread conversion software that at least one other bulletin board administration did in making that change, so the threads aren't accessible,) but any people here who participated in those threads may have a recollection of some of the contents. Agreed, as to the rest (not duplicating the work already done by existing sites too much, of course.) Eric Schissel

In fact, the Clarinet Quintets list is here too, Eric, - with alot of additions. 'American Violin Concertos...' I'll post (with additions) when the circuit arrives there, - unless I get weary.
