I'm shopping for a synth. Can anyone suggest the type/brand/model of synth based on the following?

* hopefully a synth that generates sound from scratch. Basically allowing me to play or experiment with sound waves. i.e. see how different shaped wave sounds. How they combine, substract, how they filter...

* tuning by an arbitrary factor, and shift pitch across keyboard. (e.g. micro tuning and variations.)

* be able to reverse the pitch direction. i.e. bass on the right hand side.

* be able to map 2 different sounds from one end of keyboard to the other smoothly.

* as much envelope control as possible. That is, how the sound changes when a key is held or released, or velocity/pressure mapping to sound color.

* effects. (reverb, chorus, echo, tremulous, brightness etc.)

Sounds like you can do most of that with a Trinity, but I'm not sure about the pitch reverse. When you want to experiment with sounds, you should look for the 6 voice MOSS extension board. The Trinity is an old synth, but still built by Korg. It has an excellent keyboard, and you can perhaps get a used one. But if you want to visually see the sounds, how they are shaped etc. you should perhaps go for some software synth.
