I had my grey-market Yamaha tuned the other day. Used some new talent that I'm quite pleased with. Larry might remember I discussed my dissatisfaction with the last guy (ok tuner but not really a technician). My new techie fixed my problem with the pedal lyre support bar falling off. Just like Larry said he should at least offer to go get a bigger screw at the hardware store.

But to the main topic here: I had noticed that some of the keys were starting to make clicking sounds

I first check the hammer rest rail (if there is one) cause the adjusting nuts can become loose.

A good ear can hear if the click involves metal.

WHen you find a tech who solves this problem then you found someone to be happy with. A good tech would have found your problem before leaving or make another appointment to come back.

To quickly end key clicking, get rid of those sculptured nails. Also, don't wear any bangley jewelry unless you want your own personal rhythm-section.

'Don' wrote (surely in jest 8-)) Nope. Very short nails and no baubles, bangles or beads...

educate our children. Government is good at 'See, without us you wouldn't be able to walk.' I have just started reading a book by HB. Very interesting.

I have a pretty good ear and it didn't sound metallic to me.

He did offer to come back but did recommend the other tech for a second opinion. He's young and stays extremely busy. He works for the 'official' Yamaha dealer here and admits to not getting the quality tech time he would like
