Yes, on Calig, a few years ago. My fellow Americans of a certain age may remember the Westminster Gold LP issues of the early 1970s, with amusing cover illustrations.

Given the tensions of the summer of 1968 in Czechoslovakia, would you care to share any insights into the recording sessions?

Eric Nagamine

It was released on Calig / Weltbild Classics 703769 (14 CDs). The orchestra is labeled 'Große Symphonieorchester;' apparently Czech Philharmonic and Prague National Theatre Orchestra members. Didn't they have to swap orchestras (with locals) when the Czech musicians had to return home after the Waraw Pact invasion/'assistance' before they finished recording?

It is listed as available on the Weltbild web site (http://www.weltbild.de) for 49.95 Euros: http://www.weltbild.de/artikel.php? PUBLICAID=487b38e337b27eb84b697c1a...

BTW, are you related to 'The Old Cat' who sometimes posted here?
