I would like to get an arrangement of the 'Tristan und Isolde' Prelude (not Liebestod) for solo piano. I understand Liszt did the Liebestod. But what I want is the Prelude. I think Hans von Bülow did a piano reduction of the whole opera. Where can I order just the Prelude, arranged for solo piano?

I don't know where you can just get the prelude BUT you'll likely find the piano reduction of the entire score in the 'vocal score' which will have the complete piano accompaniment.

For either/or check JWPepper.com. The vocal score is probably Schirmer/Hal Leonard publishers.

The only solo piano transcription of the Prelude from Tristan and Isolde I've ever seen may be found in:

Anthology for Musical Analysis 5th Edition; Charles Burkhart. p. 348. ISBN 0-03-055318-0.

Also of interest is the included 1914 solo piano transcription of Debussy's 'Prelude a l'apres-midi d'un faune' by Leonard Borwick, English pianist who performed many of the orchestral works by Debussy and Ravel on the piano as concert centerpieces. I know of very few people who can phrase the first oboe melody correctly...

Good luck,
