Got a CD of Werner Josten from Berkshire (among others) on CRI. Absolutely marvelous stuff. All from 1920 - 50's. A mix of Villa-lobos / Grofe, big boned and not, how to say, self-regarding and academic.

Stokowski conducting his American Symphony Orchestra on 3 of the pieces, William Strickland and the Polish national Radio O on the fourth.

And if it wasn't so inexpensive . . .

Stokowski seemed to champion the music of Josten to some extent, but he seems to be almost never played these days.
