Hi am looking to buy a digital piano, I can spend 1k to 2k, this is what I am looking for, I am a new bee so I think I should have 3 pedal to start and a great feel (keys) and great sound, I don't really need any bells or whistles at this point in the game... Thanks in advance for any post helpful postings

My neighbor wanted to buy his wife a digital piano for Christmas. I wasn't up on them, so I called my friend who works at Sweetwater. He gave me a few to check out, and I read some reviews, and decided to recommend the Roland F-100. We live in a small town, and have no access to anything nice, so I went on faith.

He had it shipped to my house (so she wouldn't see it), and we set it up yesterday. I expected it to be sort-of passable. Instead, I was blown away. The acoustic piano sound is fantastic...very expressive and realistic. The action is great. Also, it has it's own stand with built-in speakers, so the sound comes from your lap, instead in your face. This adds to the illusion.

The pedals are built into the stand, so you don't have cheap, loose pedals sliding across the floor.

For <$1500, I am very, very impressed, and I'd recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to commit to an acoustic piano.

You didn't mention portability. If that's not a concern, check out the Kawai 9500. Only two pedals, but the best action I've found in a digital piano in that price range.
