I have put a sample classical.mp3 in alt.binaries.sounds.music.classical

I would very much like to know who composed this music so I can listen to the complete works.

Josh, I'm surprised that you can refer to WGUC as a 'classical station' and keep a straight face Do they still play 'The Lark Ascending' at least three times a week?

Hmm...not that I've heard. But they sure seem to love the Barrel Organ Waltz from The Gadfly...

During its Bad Days, KUSC played the slow movement (only!) from Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez. On two consecutive days. At the same time of day (morning drive). Different recordings, however.

Now, of course, they have their 'annual' pledge drives four or five times a year, including this week. I now play MP3s in the car on my commutes.

Hi Peter, haven't seen you in a while since I don't post to RMC. Just thought I could bring you up to speed on my life, briefly... I'm in the process of transferring from Oberlin to San Jose State, for financial reasons... but nonetheless, this switch will probably benefit me still, and I'm excited. It will afford me certain opportunities, like a better chance of performing with a large ensemble, better treatment in general, and lessons year-round (not just during the school year) and the tuition is a rock-bottom $750 a semester. I'm meeting up with the new teacher they just hired, Gwendolyn Mok, later today. She's the last student of Perlemuter and just finished recording the complete works of Ravel on a period Erard (!?). Very interesting...

None planned, unless another performance of Mompou's Musica Callada can be arranged. I'd be happy to arrange a private appearance during your stay at Stanford, and perhaps Dan Koren can tag along as well.
