I have the Hyperion 'Voyage of Discovery' sampler CD for the Hyperion Schubert Lieder series. There is a fine song, very well sung by Christine Schafer, but I have been unable to find the words for this song. I believe there are several Schubert songs with this title, but this particular one (D. 359) I have not been able to locate. The very helpful site which gives translations for most of Schubert's songs (http://www.recmusic.org/lieder/s/schubert.html) does not have this one listed. Can someone direct me to a source for these lyrics (with English translations, with or without the German)? Dorian

And with a few careful clicks, you can even see the Russian version that Tchaikovsky set, in Cyrillic.

Thanks, you are correct! Looking up D 359 doesn't immediately give the words, but lists other settings. (The words are given under D 877/4). I was confused also by the title 'Sehnsucht' for D. 359 while the fuller title 'Nur wer die Sehnsucht kennt' is given for the later setting. Actually, listening to them both in succession they are musically quite similar. Thanks a lot for your help,
