Can anyone say whether there is more than one Yudina 'Trout' recording with members of the Beethoven Quartet? I recently came across a disc put out by the Russian insurance firm Reso-Garantia which claims to be a first issue of a 1960 Moscow performance. I'm curious to know if the claim is accurate or if in fact this is the same performance issued a while back by Arlecchino.(I haven't yet tracked down the latter). The doublebass player is Vladimir Khomenko. The timings are: 11:15, 7:06, 3:38, 7:33, and 4:59.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Actually the CD is issued by Moscow Conservatory (SMC CD0015). Obviously RESO-Garantia sponsored the release. And big letters 'RESO-Garantia presents' on the cover mean that Moscow Conservatory had no funds then while RESO-Garantia had no taste... I am afraid that Moscow Conservatory still has no funds to go on their series (on a regular basis at least)

No. It is the same recording that was released for the first time on Melodiya LP D 033337 in 1972 ( later on the recording was included in Schubert Melodiya set of Yudina). Arlecchino is supposed to use either of these two LP releases as a source.

The performance was recorded at Malyi (Small) Hall of Moscow State Conservatory by supposedly an All Union Radio team and apparently MSC archive has a copy.

Please do not ask me who is the legal holder
