Very cheap. Any good? I've enjoyed other recordings with tenor Rainer Trost.

It's very fast, even breathlessly so at times, although Zinman's musicians seems to be able to keep up with him. It's worth hearing, particularly at that price, but the sonics are disappointingly opaque, and a bit inconsistent through the work.

It may be the fastest on records, a fact which, coupled with the very light tone of the orchestra and the rather diffuse recorded sound (I keep turning it up trying to get more 'impact' makes the whole thing sound rather trivial - as do the few tasteful (but surely unnecessary) ornaments added by the violinist in the Benedictus. If you liked his recording of the 9th you may like this. But it's cheap enough to experiment with and it's not without the odd incidental interest.
